At least one City Hall lobbyist has a direct line of communication with the mayor himself.

Several months ago, NY1 filed a Freedom of Information Law request to take a look at what communication Jim Capalino has had with the mayor and his inner circle.

Capalino runs one of the most successful lobbying firms in the city and raised thousands of dollars for the mayor’s campaign in 2013.

We got some of those emails back late Friday.

In one instance in March of 2015, Capalino personally wrote the mayor to set up a meeting with a client who is one of China's most prominent businessmen.

According to the mayor's schedule, de Blasio met with Wang Jianlin at City Hall just three weeks later.

A spokesperson says the meeting was about Chinese tourism.

Wang's business was at one point connected to the controversial developer of Rivington House.

The emails also show one of the mayor's staffers explicitly saying no cameras will be allowed and that it will not be disclosed on his public schedule.
