With enemies like these, who needs friends?

It may not quite be a love-fest but today’s meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin seems more than a frosty sit-down of frenemies.

Leading up to his meeting in Finland with Putin, the president acted unconcerned that Russia tried to tamper with the 2016 presidential election, perhaps because he wants no doubt cast on an election that he won.

And oblivious of history – or at least the Cuban Missile Crisis -- Trump Tweeted this morning that: “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!”

The Russian Foreign ministry Tweeted in response: "We agree."

The entire post-World War II reality of Western Europe being an American ally with Russia acting as an enemy has been turned on its head by Trump who also declared yesterday that the European Union is “a foe” of the United States.

Is anyone else a little worried that there was no one in that room with Putin and Trump besides their translators?
