Ari Ephraim Feldman joined Spectrum News NY1’s digital news team in January 2021 as a reporter covering adaptation to climate change, politics, social welfare and public safety.

Before NY1, Ari was a staff reporter at the Forward, the nonprofit news outlet covering the Jewish world. His work earned a Deadline Club award, the Nellie Bly Cub Reporter Award from the New York Press Club and awards from the American Jewish Press Association.

Before getting his first job in journalism, Ari was a summer camp counselor in Wisconsin for children with learning, social and behavioral difficulties.

Though a proud born-and-bred Minnesotan, Ari has family roots in Queens — which means he has no "Fargo"-like accent, don’t ya know.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in the history of science at the University of Chicago, where he also wrote for the beloved South Side Weekly.

When not reporting, Ari can most often be found reading, cooking too much food, rearranging the fridge to find space for the leftovers, playing tennis and taking his dog, Fitz, for a walk.
