Meeting new people and learning something new every day are just some of the reasons why Rocco Vertuccio loves being a journalist in New York City.

Rocco joined NY1 as an anchor/reporter in February 2009. Over the years, he has covered just about every type of story there is across the five boroughs. Whether it’s breaking news or a feature, Rocco loves connecting with New Yorkers, hearing their stories and informing them about what’s happening in their city and neighborhood.

Rocco currently co-anchors NY1’s weekend morning newscasts with Shannan Ferry.

Prior to joining NY1, Rocco worked as an anchor/reporter at NY1’s sister station in Rochester, New York.

Rocco is a New York City native. He’s the son of Italian immigrants who emigrated to Williamsburg, Brooklyn before it was cool to live there. When Rocco is not working he loves to read, bike (he says it’s a great way to explore the city), play and watch tennis, go to Broadway shows, travel and spend time with family.
