A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed while walking with his friend in the Bronx in what appeared to be a targeted attack Wednesday night, police said.

The incident happened at 2249 Morris Ave., near East 182nd Street, in Fordham Heights, where police said the teens were ambushed by two gunmen around 9:15 p.m.

The 14-year-old boy was shot in the torso and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The boy's friend did not sustain any injuries, according to police.

Police said the suspects, wearing black hoodies and black masks, were crouched behind a car as the two teens walked by. They then sprung out from behind the vehicle and fired multiple shots before fleeing on foot.

Several shell casing were recovered at the scene of the incident, the NYPD said.

No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of Thursday afternoon. An investigation is ongoing.
