“To see her play live and to hear that moaning, that groaning, that grunt that she does, it’s just absolutely amazing,” said tennis fan Veronica Porter.

Porter, like many others, said she is eager to see the tennis great play one final time.

“When she played against Osaka and lost, it was a great match. I was here to watch it. She told the fans to, you know, embrace the fact that she lost and Osaka won and that just shows she’s a champion,” said Williams fan Maureen Davidson.

Outside of Williams’ final bow, the week hosts several events for the whole family.

“It’s pretty fun. I got to see some stuff. I got some food. I got to see some tennis,” said first-time Open-goer John Lincoln Johnston.

Johnston’s dad brought him and his sister out for a day at the grounds.

Most of the events are free ahead of the start of the tournament Monday.
