The teenager who pleaded guilty to killing Barnard College student Tessa Majors more than two years ago has been sentenced to 14 years to life in prison.

Rashaun Weaver was one of three teens involved in the stabbing of Majors in Morningside Park in December of 2019.

Police say he repeatedly stabbed Majors while another teen held her. She was 18 years old at the time.

A victim impact statement from Majors' family was presented in court.

The family said they have no idea what it must have been like for Majors to fight three males, all larger than her, only to get away twice before being targeted again, all for an iPhone.

The family added they miss her every day and their pain is immeasurable.
