Organizers of New York City’s Annual Village Halloween Parade are planning a return in 2021 – but they say they still need to raise funds in order for the event to be held.

Organizers tell NY1 that the city has approved the necessary permits for the parade to be held, but because the approvals happened late, the parade could still be canceled due to a lack of funds.

The parade's website includes a link for donations to raise the necessary money. According to the donation link, a total of $150,000 is needed to be raised by Oct. 5.

Randy Rainbow has been announced as the grand marshal for this year’s parade.

Last year’s parade was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
