BRONX, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department has put out surveillance video of two people wanted in connection with the stabbing of a volunteer with Eric Adams' mayoral campaign over the weekend.

Police said the attack happened just before 3 p.m. on 149th Street and Morris Ave. in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.

The 42-year-old man was stabbed twice in the torso, according to the police. He was brought to an area hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

On Twitter, Adams confirmed the victim was one of his mayoral campaign volunteers.

Adams said the volunteer was stabbed multiple times with an ice pick and had to undergo surgery because of the attack, adding “We pray for him. This violence must stop.”

At least five Democratic mayoral primary candidates — including Maya Wiley, Kathryn Garica and Andrew Yang — offered their support to Adams and his team via Twitter shortly afterwards.

The leading candidate for mayoral asked for the public to call the police if they have any information on the stabbing.

At the time of this writing, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet, according to police.
