NEW YORK — The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is ending three bus routes it created to fill in gaps in service when it shut down the subway system overnight during the pandemic.

Starting Thursday, the B99, Bx99, and M99 will cease operations.

The B99 runs between Flatbush Avenue and Midtown.

The Bx99 runs between Woodlawn and Hudson Street in Lower Manhattan.

The M99 runs between East New York and the West 42nd Street pier.

Extra overnight service on 12 other bus routes also ends Thursday, and they will return to pre-pandemic service.

The MTA says the extra overnight buses are no longer needed since round-the clock subway service returned last month.
