NEW YORK - As we enter a new year, the fight against the coronavirus continues – with Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo releasing the latest statistics for the city and state.

Mayor de Blasio says there were more than 3,600 new cases reported yesterday. And 201 people were hospitalized as a result of the virus.

The positivity rate is now 9.39%.

Meanwhile, data from Governor Cuomo's office shows statewide hospitalizations are above 7,800.

The state's positivity rate is 7.45%.

One hundred and twenty-eight New Yorkers died from the virus yesterday.
