A severe storm swept through the five boroughs on Sunday night and left some downed scaffolding and trees in its wake.

Con Edison reports that as of late Monday morning crews were trying to restore power to 3,100 customers.

The fast-moving storm resulted in a severe thunderstorm warning being issued for all five boroughs, and even a brief tornado warning in Manhattan and the Bronx - though no tornado was spotted or confirmed.

 

Winds that accompanied the storm reached as high as 62 mph at LaGuardia Airport. Heavy rain was spotted across the five boroughs as well.

The FDNY confirmed that crews responded to reports of downed scaffolding at both 18th Street and Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, and at West 179th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights. No injuries were reported in either incident.

Emergency crews were also called to respond to a downed tree blocking a road in Whitestone at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. 

The tornado warning was canceled at 8:50 p.m., about 15 minutes after it was issued. All other warnings were canceled just before 10 p.m.

 

The storm caused damage to cars after being crushed by trees.It also knocked down food trucks in the city as well as street lights and traffic poles.
