As COVID-19 cases climb throughout the five boroughs, City Council's Health Committee Chair Mark Levine calls for a suspension of indoor dining.

Councilman Levine said the city needs to act swiftly to stop this second wave by reducing the amount of social interactions.

While he said he realizes this will cause a major financial blow to local businesses, he added doing nothing would be far worse.

"If we fail to act now then more dramatic shutdown measures will be inevitable," Levine said, in part. "The window is quickly closing on our opportunity to flatten this new curve."

Levine also called for more financial help from the federal government.
