Multiple police agencies chased after a stolen police cruiser from New Jersey early Sunday morning.

The driver, Frank Suarez, 31, was arrested early Sunday morning and was taken into custody at the 72nd Precinct before being taken to Brooklyn Criminal Court, according to authorities.

Police say Suarez stole a police cruiser in Bayonne, New Jersey when an officer was investigating a crash and left his vehicle. That was when Suarez took off with the cruiser, according to police.

Port Authority Police Department tried to stop the vehicle at the Goethals Bridge just before 1 in the morning Sunday, but the driver did not stop, police say; Later, an NYPD vehicle also started chasing after the vehicle once it approached the Verrazzano Bridge.

Suarez crashed the police cruiser at 5th Avenue and 23rd Street, which is in the 72nd Precinct. He crashed into a parked car and a Port Authority police department vehicle crashed into the stolen cruiser.

There were no reported injuries and Suarez is being held at Brooklyn Criminal Court. No word on when he will get arraigned.
