One person is hurt in a partial building collapse in that happened around noon in Manhattan.

FDNY officials say the roof of a five-story vacant building on East 38th Street at Third Avenue collapsed - sending bricks and debris into the street and onto parked cars. The fire chief says the department is always ready for a call like this.

"The buildings in New York City are not getting any younger. The fire department is always prepared to respond and we anticipate this - the members did a great job as usual and we're going to move forward with the Department of Buildings,” said FDNY Deputy Chief, Nicholas Corrado.
