BROOKLYN, N.Y. - A $2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting of a 10-year-old boy in Brooklyn this week.

He was shot in the leg around 10 p.m. Tuesday night on East 29th Street between Clarendon Road and Avenue D in Flatbush.

Police say it may have been a drive-by shooting and the boy was not the intended target.

Community leaders say the city needs to do more to stop the violence.

"All Black lives matter. You know, so that means from police brutality and also due to gang violence. Also putting pressure on elected officials to make sure to provide the resources and services that are needed so that way the gun violence can actually stop instead of trying to put a Band-Aid over the situation," said one Flatbush resident.

The boy was taken Kings County Hospital and is expected to be okay.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-8477, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
