Four people are dead after a fire tore through the top floor of a Bronx apartment building Tuesday night, according to the NYPD.

The fire on the sixth floor broke out around 7:40 p.m. at a building on Grand Concourse near Sheridan Avenue in the Claremont section of the Bronx.

The women were pronounced dead at a local hospital. Their identities were not confirmed Tuesday night.

They lived in the two apartments next to the one where the fire started, authorities say.
