An Anti-War March in Times Square was held today responding to the U.S. drone strikes that killed a top Iranian general.

The coalition "ANSWER," which stands for "Act Now to Stop War and End Racism" led the march.

The group is calling on "all those who believe in peace and are opposed to yet another catastrophic war" to take action, days after the White House ordered an airstrike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani .

"Why is the US constantly, constantly at war, constantly in other countries intervening? And it’s because war is profitable. Destruction and death is profitable and that is all the U.S. empire is focused on. It values profits over human lives," one person suggested.

There were anti-war marches in cities across the country.
