Twenty years later, the Buchmans are back. That's right, Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt are reprising their roles in “Mad About You,” one of TV’s favorite couples.

The original show ran on NBC from 1992 to 1999 and now joins the era of TV revivals.

“It’s the same as it used to be, but slower,” Reiser joked on the red carpet at Rockefeller Center. We’re older and slower.”

“It was very quickly very comfortable,” said Hunt, who also directed the season premiere. “What was strange is that it wasn’t strange.”

What inspired the duo to take on the beloved characters once again?

“We were very clear, Helen and I, for years that we ended it perfectly,” Reiser told NY1. “There’s no reason to ever come back, and when people started inviting us, we started talking about it and we said, ‘Well, actually, this moment right where our kid would leave the house and we’re alone again, that would be an interesting place to get stories from.’”

Baby Mabel is all grown up, played by Abby Quinn. And John Pankow appears again as Ira Buchman.

“’Mad About You’ is a blast. I said, ‘I hope somebody on set knows CPR, a lot of years have passed!’” Pankow said.

Six episodes are up on Spectrum on Demand now, and six more episodes will be up on Wednesday.
