A man is in critical condition after pointing a fake gun at police officers in the Bronx.

The NYPD said officers responded to a 911 call about a person with a gun early Saturday morning near East 167th Street and Findlay Avenue in Concourse Village.

"The officers ordered the suspect to show them his hands, when he pointed the weapon towards the officers. Two uniformed officers discharged their firearms, striking the suspect in the torso," said Fausto Pichardo, NYPD Chief of Patrol.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.

This fake gun was recovered at the scene.
