NEW YORK - A carbon monoxide incident in Manhattan Tuesday morning sent five people to the hospital, one in serious condition.
There were elevated levels in the basement of a deli near Broome Street and Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side.
Fire officials say the call came in around 7:45 a.m.
Once at the scene, they shut off the boiler and the carbon monoxide levels came down.
The investigation is ongoing.
