The morning crowds of commuters and tourists on the Staten Island Ferry. I would be joining them to begin my journey.

I am headed to Manhattan. The timer starts when I hop on a boat.

The ferry left right around 10:33 - and I do love the ferry, so I rode outside and enjoyed the views before docking in Manhattan, where news van operator Guido Sotelo was waiting for me to confirm my arrival.

Next, I had to take the R train to Brooklyn and meet up with my videographer Nick Wetzel, who was also in on this.

I arrived at 9th Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. The next step: getting on the G train and taking it to Queens.

Honestly, I love the view from the G as it heads towards Carroll Gardens.

It's little bit of a ride over to Queens. I made it to Court Square Station in Long Island City. About an hour and 20 minutes had gone by in my trek.

The next step was a trip on the 7 for one stop to Queensboro Plaza. Then, the N came. I took the N one stop under the River to 59th and Lexington Avenue.

The 4 train was the last leg. I arrived at 138th Street and Grand Concourse a little after 1 p.m. Total ride time? Just under two hours and 32 minutes.
