As part of breast cancer awareness month, a Manhattan fertility clinic is offering to help those battling or recovering from the disease to start a family when they are ready.

Throughout October, Generation Next Facility is offering free egg freezing cycles to women currently or previously diagnosed with breast cancer.

According to the clinic, Women facing breast cancer treatments must often freeze their eggs prior to chemo and radiation. They say their “eggtober” campaign is meant to help those who want to have children but couldn’t in the past or can’t right now.

The process typically costs between $10,000 and $15,000 and is not always covered by insurance.
