One person was killed, and four others were injured, in two separate shootings in Queens and Brooklyn on Friday night, according to the city police department.

The shooting in Far Rockaway, at Beach 40th Street near the Beach 41st Street Development, occurred around 8:10 p.m.

Police officers said they responded to a report of an assault at the location when they discovered an 18-year-old man shot in the chest and legs and a 25-year-old man shot in the head.

The 18-year-old was pronounced dead at a local hospital, while the other man was hospitalized with serious injuries.

In the East New York shooting, three people were shot in front of a building near Blake Avenue and Mary Warren Place around 8:47 p.m., investigators said. They were rushed to local hospitals but were expected to survive.

Police did not confirm any connection between the two shootings.

None of the victims were identified at this time. Motives for the shootings were not determined as of this writing.

No arrests were made as of Friday night.
