A funeral was held Saturday in the Bronx for a high-ranking NYPD officer who died in a motorcycle crash Monday.

Family members and colleagues within the police department came to pay their respects to Inspector Michael McGrath, who was a commanding officer to the cadet force.

After the funeral, officials from the NYPD handed the flag wrapping McGrath's casket to his daughter.

McGrath was part of of a bike crew made up of law enforcement members.

They followed behind the hearse for one last ride with McGrath.

"We had an emergency meeting between our club, and I didn't know what the meeting was about, just we had to be there," said Alberto Santos of NYC Punishers Motorcycle Club. "I still can't believe it. It's just totally unexpected. He was just one of a kind. He really was. And he was his friend, we were his friend, and he's my brother."

McGrath was killed Monday while off-duty when a garbage truck collided with his motorcycle on East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx.

The crash is still under investigation.

The driver of the truck stayed on scene and has not been charged.
