In the Bronx, thousands of foodies came out to celebrate the diverse cuisine available in the borough.

The 12th Annual Allerton International Food Festival took place Saturday. The event showcased local restaurants, with dozens of options to savor like Spanish and African flavors, even some unusual ones like Albanian food. It was all in an effort to encourage residents  to dine locally.

Nathalia Fernandez (D) Assemblywoman representing the Bronx says “they're here today promoting themselves, and this is just to get their names out there and get their food out there and to let the public know who’s out and available for food and service and everything.”

The event also included dancing and games, to burn off all those calories.
