A mildly venomous snake has reportedly escaped from its enclosure at the Bronx Zoo.

The reptile in question is a three foot-long mangrove snake like the one seen pictured here.

The only notice to visitors is said to be a small sign outside the Jungle World that downplays any danger.

It says the nocturnal snake is timid and likely won't try to interact with humans.

There are no known mangrove snake fatalities.

But their venom can cause painful swelling and discoloration of the skin.
