A big win has come in for opponents of the proposed development at Two Bridges.

A judge has ordered the project to go through ULURP, a standardized procedure whereby applications affecting the land use of the city are publicly reviewed.

The project calls for four high rise buildings with 2,800 apartments with a quarter of them being affordable.

The city said the plan could move forward without having to go through a lengthy review.

But opponents of the project say the buildings would block sunlight, displace current residents, and clog up streets and subways.

They went to court to try to stop the project and in June a judge extended a restraining order temporarily preventing construction at the site.

The developers say they aren't giving up and will appeal the decision.

The city says it's disappointed by the ruling and is considering its legal options.
