NEW YORK - Buildings inspectors say a Manhattan restaurant is stable after a taxi cab crashed into it Thursday.

Video shows the yellow taxi plowing into the Westville Restaurant located at 811 Ninth Avenue in Hell's Kitchen just after noon.

One man scrambled to move out of the way before he was hit.

Eight people suffered minor injuries, but no one was seriously hurt.

"I feel really fortunate that it wasn't any worst it could have been complete hell so maybe there were minor injuries some people were freaked out all of our kitchen stopped working. Its a horrible thing but you know to my understanding no one was terribly hurt," said Jay Strauss, the restaurant's owner.

The Buildings Department says there was only minor damage to the restaurant's front door and the sidewalk in the area has been reopened.
