A plane that landed at Newark airport this morning got stuck, and caused a reported shutdown of the airport. Flights have since resumed, but you should expect delays at the airport.

The FAA tweeted that United Airlines Flight 627 from Denver landed at 1 p.m. on Runway 22 at Newark, but skidded off the left side of the pavement. That caused the left main landing gear to get stuck in a grassy area.

The plane was to be towed off the airfield after passengers were evacuated. No injuries were reported by the FAA, whose investigators are now starting an inquiry.

Flights in and out of Newark have been delayed for up to two hours; we are waiting confirmation that the plane was removed.
