Brooklyn students stage a walk out - sending a clear message - gun violence must end.

Two hundred 7th and 8th graders from Launch Expeditionary Learning Charter School took part  in the 3rd annual 'Walkout to End Gun Violence' in Crown Heights on Friday.

The students walked to Restoration Plaza where they held a rally that included student speeches, dance performances, and singing. Each spring, 7th graders at the school participate in a program that discussing gun violence.

Yaydey Rivera, a 7th grader says "a lot of students they just feel its normal cause we grew up with this. Like we grew up with all this happening and now that we're in this unit I feel like I'm learning more about it. I'm starting to see, wow, this really isn't normal."

The walkout was part of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
