NEW YORK - The NYPD departmental trial for officer Daniel Pantaleo resumed Wednesday after two weeks off.

The defense was waiting on testimony from a medical expert, who wasn't available until this week.

Pantaleo is accused of using a banned chokehold while arresting Eric Garner in 2014.

The last person to testify was Pantaleo's partner.

He admitted exaggerating the seriousness of Garner's suspected crime in paperwork after Garner's death. Police were trying to arrest him for selling lose cigarettes.

A Staten Island grand jury did not indict Pantaleo on criminal charges.

If he's found guilty, he could be fired or lose vacation days.
