Police shot and tasered a woman armed with a knife in Queens on Friday night after she threw a glass bottle at officers, the city police department said.

It happened around 10 p.m. near Jamaica Avenue and 212th Street in Queens Village.

Police officials said two officers on patrol pulled into a car wash after they saw her "acting erratically" outside the location.

After the woman threw the bottle at the officers, who were exiting their patrol car, they ordered her several times to drop the knife. An officer shot her once in the lower abdomen after she did not drop it and advanced towards them, the NYPD said.

According to officials, she then ran a block down the street, where two responding officers saw her still holding the knife. She was taken into custody after one of those officers tasered her.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The officers were not injured. A knife was recovered at the scene.

A police source initially told NY1 that the woman was tasered and then was shot after that failed to stop her.
