NEW YORK - The city said a final farewell Friday to the FDNY firefighter killed while serving with the Marines in Afghanistan.

Family, friends and fellow FDNY members gathered at St. Thomas Church in Manhattan for Christopher Slutman's funeral.

Slutman will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

A wake for Slutman was held Thursday in the Bronx.

The father of three was a 15-year veteran of the FDNY who worked at Ladder 17 and Ladder 27 in the Bronx.

Slutman was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on April 8, three weeks before he was scheduled to return home.
