An off-duty NYPD officer was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Laurelton Parkway.

Police say 42-year-old Sgt. Marc Arromand was traveling southbound when he lost control of the bike and was ejected from his seat early Thursday morning.

He then collided with a metal guard rail near Merrick Boulevard and was struck by a Chevrolet Camaro, according to police.

The driver remained on scene, but Sgt. Arromand died at the hospital.

"A brave police officer who serves us and who we have lost so early in his life and it is a very, very painful moment for all of us,” said Mayor de Blasio. “Today, when you see members of the NYPD please extend your condolences to them, it's going to be a tough day for all of them, and our thoughts are prayers are with the family."

Mayor de Blasio says the officer was headed to work at the time of the accident.

No arrests have been made as of this writing and the investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department's Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.

St. Arromand first joined the NYPD in 2003.

He is survived by his wife and five children.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up for the family.
