This time, a piece of metal struck a car driving under the elevated 7 Train at 62nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue.

Although the debris hit an occupied car, nobody was injured. The car, however, didn’t make out so well.

Workers arrived at the site to clean it up and to make sure there wasn’t any additional loose metal at the elevated subway station shortly afterwards.

Jimmy Van Bramer, the local councilman of the area, was also at the scene. He called the incident “absolutely unacceptable and outrageous,” and said that somebody easily could have been killed.

"This has got to be fixed. The MTA has gotta get it right. We cannot afford to be here in two weeks, God forbid, talking about someone getting killed or injured on Roosevelt Avenue," the councilman warned.

The MTA released a statement, saying this is very concerning and the incident is under investigation.

They say no construction was being done at the location and that inspections done after the first incident showed all elevated tracks in the system were safe.

They say one possibility being investigated is that the piece of metal may have broken loose after a truck hit the structure Tuesday.
