NEW YORK - Federal housing administrator Lynne Patton's stay at another city public housing housing complex is already off to a rocky start.

The HUD official was stuck inside an elevator for about 20 minutes late Tuesday morning at the Frederick Douglass Houses on the Upper West Side.

No injuries were reported and the fire department described the rescue as a routine job.

A NYCHA spokesperson told NY1 that an alarm switch was accidentally hit in the crowded elevator, which caused it to stop.

Patton arrived at the NYCHA facility on Monday for a week-long stay.

Patton will live in an apartment there until Friday, when she will attend a town hall meeting with residents.

Patton is spending all of February in NYCHA developments to call attention to conditions there.
