Mayor Bill de Blasio penned an op-ed for The New York Times, providing his perspective on the failed deal to bring an Amazon headquarters to Queens.

In the piece, de Blasio says the city held up its end of the deal, but says the deal was, "scuttled by a few very powerful people sitting in a boardroom in Seattle."

Additionally, de Blasio writes that Amazon was, "unwilling to bend or even talk" about ways to make the deal work for both sides.

The building was set to come to Long Island City, and would have included massive tax breaks for Amazon.

The deal faced heavy criticism from many state lawmakers, though de Blasio acknowledges it would have brought thousands of jobs to the city.

While many lawmakers were unhappy with the proposed deal, polls show the majority of New Yorkers approved of the plan.
