Former Congressman Joe Crowley signed a deed gifting his congressional and personal papers to the library at Queens College Thursday. Crowley graduated from the school in 1985 and served the borough in the US House of Representatives for 20 years. His collection includes a copy of the Affordable Care Act signed by President Barack Obama as well as personal photos and notes from his time in office.

"This is very special to me personally, it is a part of my legacy if that is the right word to use, but something I hope will enrich the lives of others," said Crowley.

Crowley lost his re-election bid to now congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. Queens College says Crowley's documents will be stored in its Library of Special Collections which is currently being renovated.
