NEW YORK - Subway trains that travel through the City Hall station are moving faster.

The MTA has increased the speed limit at the stop from 6 mph to 15 mph.

These new signs were unveiled in the tunnel Thursday.

The City Hall station had held the record for lowest speed limit in the subway system.

The increase is part of New York City Transit "Save Safe Seconds" plan to safely reduce travel time and cut down on delays by speeding up trains.

Speed limits have already been raised at 34 stations across the city.
