The city's Department of Education says it is "deeply disturbed" following the arrest of one of its employees for allegedly abusing a mentally disabled man in Brooklyn.
Sources tell NY1, 44-year-old Aries Baluyot hit the 20-year-old autistic man multiple times with a wooden stick at P.S. 721 in Gravesend.
Sources say Baluyot was arrested at the school two days after the alleged incident on assault charges.
The victim was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises.
The DOE says the employee is being suspended without pay.
