QUEENS, N.Y. - Dozens of Queens residents packed a Town Hall meeting Monday night, speaking out against a proposed homeless shelter in the borough.

The city plans to move 200 homeless men into a four-story building in College Point located on 20th Avenue and 127th Street.

But many residents in the community are not happy with the proposal.

They say the city did not consult them or ask for their input.

Residents also say they're worried for their safety, considering there are several schools in the neighborhood.

The Department of Homeless Services responded to all the backlash in a statement saying, "Homeless New Yorkers come from every community across the five boroughs, so we need every community to come together to address homelessness."
