NEW YORK - A person is under arrest in connection with the apparent road rage attack that left an off-duty city firefighter dead over the weekend.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and the NYPD in New Jersey.

Firefighter Faizal Coto died early Sunday morning.

Police say his car collided with another car on the Belt Parkway in Bay Ridge.

Coto was attacked by the other driver after they got into an argument.

The medical examiner says Coto died from blunt force trauma to the head and has ruled the death a homicide.

Coto had served in the fire department for three years with Engine Company 245 in Coney Island.

A wake will be held Wednesday at Leone Funeral Home on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and later from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will take place Thursday at 11 a.m.
