It's the most wonderful time of the year for the hundreds of people who will don their Santa suits and beards for the annual Santa Con.

The holiday bar crawl kicked off at 10 a.m. this morning at 33rd Street and 7th Avenue.

The event's organizers say the event has raised over $400,000 for charitable causes.

Participants who donate will receive priority entrance into bars and a Super Duper Santa Badge.

But the event has gotten a reputation for becoming a bit rowdy.

To maintain safe and orderly travel, the MTA is banning alcohol on LIRR and Metro North trains and stations for 24 hours.
