New York City Police Commissioner James O'Neill talked about both of these cases with NY1’s Dean Meminger.

"We take a proactive approach. We have a robust active shooter program that we put all our police officers through," Police Commissioner James O’Neill said.

The Mayor plans to hold a press conference at 7 p.m. today.
