The MTA appointed its first-ever accessibility chief.

Alex Elegudin officially begins next week.

He will spearhead the agency's Fast Forward plan, which aims to expand accessibility to subway and bus customers, as well as improve Access-A-Ride service.

Elegudin says it's time to make services user friendly for all.

"You know, people with disabilities have been left outside for quite some time in different facets of society and showing that the transit system is making them a priority and allowing them to really participate in our community is great," said Elegudin.

Elegudin lives in Brooklyn and has been using a wheelchair since 2003.

He also runs an accessibility non-profit called Wheeling Forward.
