Letter grades aren't just for city restaurants anymore.

They'll soon be coming to food carts.

Vendors will be rated from A to C based on a number of criteria, like cleanliness, proper food storage and waste disposal.

They'll also have to provide evidence that their food, including ice, came from an approved source.

Carts with violations would be shut down.

The city also wants every food cart to be equipted with GPS for tracking purposes.

The program has not gotten the final green light just yet.

There is a 30-day period for the public to submit their opinions and a public hearing is scheduled for July 9th.
