When it comes to over-the-top food creations, a restaurant is just "winging it" with chicken wings covered in 24-karat gold.

They are available at The Ainsworth in Chelsea or the East Village. The idea was born with the help of a popular food blogger.

The president of the company said they wanted to create something that has never been done before.

The wings are brined for 12 hours, coated with a house-made rub, and dusted in a layer of gold.

The company said the wings are completely edible, but they won't come cheap: 10 bedazzled wings cost you $45.
