Mayor de Blasio is backing a pilot program that would give addicts a place to safely use drugs while under supervision of medical professionals.

The plan calls for four safe injection sites to open after a 6 to 12 month period of community outreach.

If approved, they would be placed in Gowanus, Midtown West, Washington Heights and Longwood.

They would also be financed and run by nonprofit groups.
