The city's Housing Authority says it plans to maintain all services during the federal government shutdown.

NYCHA tweeted out a letter from its CEO saying it is working with the Department of Housing and Urban Development to come up with contingency plans in case the shutdown is lengthy.

The Housing Authority says federal operating subsidies make up half of its general fund.

Federal funding also accounts for 98 percent of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.

NYCHA says it has already boosted its operating reserves to deal with the recent spell of cold weather.
